  1. Closed loop steppers like S42B are becoming popular for the spatial axes because compensating for skipped steps is the correct way to recover for those axes.

  2. Maybe. This is a try-it-and-see thing. You have to check whether your drawer front has enough strength 1 to distort your plywood drawer. With luck this'll work fine and you can proceed as normal.

  3. This turned out to be a problem with the tightness of the rollers at the left and right sides of the X-axis gantry (that roll up and down the Z rails).

  4. Rear solid axles on trucks especially with leaf springs are not adjustable. To cause enough misalignment for one wheel to rub something must be damaged. I would start by looking at the center bolt of the leaf springs.

  5. Thanks for the comments! They led me to find this solution using PuTTY on Windows as my serial (COM) terminal. I guess one of my resets put the settings to 1/16th stepping whereas my hardware has 1/8th stepping.

  6. I suspect, as I am wont to do, that your problem lies in the STL created by SketchUp. It's an unfortunate aspect of that program that it creates non-manifold models which creates troubles such as this.

  7. Yes, you can use an enclosure, many people do. PSA : Whatever you use for an enclosure, please take precautions for the potential of fire. Have a smoke detector within the enclosure or nearby.

  8. The second placement is a better choice from an overall standpoint. In the vertical placement, adhesion is going to be more critical, although Prusa printers have good bonding for PLA and ABS, from my direct experience.

  11. Easy peasy. Go to 3dp.rocks and select the output shape you desire. I've had excellent results making flat lithopanes. I created a couple curved STLs which look fine in Cura; just didn't print them.
